The Opera at the Teatro Antico

There are three new operas produced by the Euro-Mediterranean festival in collaboration with Taormina Arte 2013 for the programming of the Teatro Antico: Rigolettoby Giuseppe Verdi (7-9 July), Cavalleria Rusticana by Pietro Mascagni (8-12 August) and Pagliacci by Ruggero Leonc endorsement (10-14 August).
The director is curated by Enrico Castiglione, which since 2007 with great success symbol opera productions at the Teatro Antico and costumes are created by Sonia Cammarata. On stage, the Choir and the Orchestra of the Festival Euro Mediterraneo.Opens the opera season Rigoletto, opera in three acts by Giuseppe Verdi libretto by Francesco Maria Piave is the play by Victor Hugo Roi's'amuse, celebrates the great Italian composer in his second centenary of the birth.
Cavalleria Rusticana, the composer Pietro Mascagni's one-act libretto by Giovanni Targioni Tozzetti and Guido Menasci,located in the beautiful scenery of the Teatro Antico of Taormina its natural position. I Pagliacci by Ruggero Leoncavallo, the work is divided into two acts with a libretto by the composer, the prologue is a true manifesto of the current poetic realist.
