Pick you upfrom Villa Sonia at your most convenint time in the morning and drive to mountEtna through Sicilian towns (Santa Venerina, Zafferana…) and visit some oldLava flow on the way. During the ascent different kinds of vegetation can benoted. We will reach 2.000 meters (7.000 ft) where we take a walk together tovisit the “Silvestri” craters (last century eruption) and the latest new lavaflows and craters from 2001/2003, enjoy the desert moon atmosphere! You cantake a longer hike to other craters. One the way, we will also stop and visit alocal family farm where it is possible to taste local Etna wine, a selction ofnatural honey (orange ,lemon, eucalyptus, strawberry.), almond pastries,olives, extra virgin oil. We then take you to one of the best know vineyards“Tenuta San Michele del Murgo” where it is possible to tours the wonderfulproperty overlooking the sea and the volcano and taste some of their localtable wine. We will end the day with a visit of the charming village ofGiardini Naxos. (tours duration approx. 5 hours).
